Harry Lawrence Jackson is a self taught African-American artist born in Brooklyn New York. Harry served in the US Military in the 1st Air Calvary. He has worked with many art mediums until he found pen and ink to be quite unique. These two unique pen and ink prints, Ethiopia and Summer Fanta, won awards in the 70’s at the Omni, in Atlanta Georgia. In these two prints, Harry’s ability to bring his subjects to life, as well as, the subtle skill of his technique is obvious. His images may seem almost photographic at first; at closer inspection, his backgrounds reveal an impressionistic quality that allows even greater focus on the main subject. Harry pays exquisite attention to detail and combines excellent artistry with remarkable accuracy, creating limited edition fine art prints of beauty and power, as well as, an open collection. His art was rediscovered by his childhood friend, Youngs Leff.
